The Beginning of a new journey

Last Saturday, we took a moment that had been a long time coming. At the Hellenic Club of Canberra, we sat together and signed the official documents establishing Borg Athanasiou Holdings.

For us, this was more than simply signing a set of documents. It was the formal beginning of something we had discussed, imagined and worked towards together — a company built on our friendship, our families, our experiences and the networks we have developed throughout our lives.

We have been friends for many years, and throughout that time we have each followed very different paths. Elijah comes from a strong IT background, with valuable experience and knowledge developed through his family’s company. Adam comes from a family background closely connected to politics and diplomacy, providing a different perspective shaped by relationships, international affairs and business connections.

Over time, we came to recognise that these different experiences could complement one another. Rather than simply pursuing our own individual paths, we decided to combine our knowledge, experience and contacts and build something together.

The name Borg Athanasiou Holdings carries a particularly personal significance for both of us. It represents the joining of two families that have each played an important role in shaping who we are today. To see the names of our two families intertwined in something that we are building together is deeply meaningful. It represents not only a business partnership, but also the relationship and trust that has developed between our families over the years.

Our ambition for Borg Athanasiou Holdings is straightforward, but we believe it will require dedication. Over the next five to ten years, we want to establish ourselves as a respected and trusted company, known for providing our services with quality, professionalism and genuine commitment.

Our international connections will also play an important role. In particular, our relationships across Europe, especially in Malta and Greece, provide a strong foundation for developing opportunities between Europe and Australia. We see enormous potential in connecting people, businesses, markets and ideas across these regions.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our incoming Company Secretary and Senior Partner for Legal Relations, whose expertise and support were instrumental in helping us develop and finalise the documents that have brought this new chapter to life. Having people we trust and respect involved from the very beginning is something we consider incredibly important.

We also want to recognise our great friend Andreas Tsoulias. Andreas has been an important part of our journey, and we are incredibly excited about what lies ahead with him. We cannot say too much just yet — but watch this space. There is something exciting coming.

For now, this is only the beginning.

There are opportunities we are already exploring, relationships we are developing and ideas that we believe could become something much larger in the years ahead. Not everything needs to be revealed today. Some things are better left to unfold.
